Bat

Bats are recurring enemies in the Neutronized universe. They have appeared in the Super Cat Tales series, Dyna Boy series, Slime Pizza and Drop Wizard Tower.

Physical appearance[edit]

In the Dyna Boy series, bats have a round purple body and pointed ears that appear more pointed when they fly with their wings down. The wings of the bat are the same purple color as its body but the underside of the wing is a bright orangish pink. They have two small beady yellow eyes that are a darker shade of purple than its body when its eyes are closed. They have a blue tail that is shaped like a slanted rectangle.

In other games outside of the Dyna Boy series, bats have a purple-gray body color with yellow eyes, and their nose and inside of their ears are pink. They have a more rounded body shape and no visible tail. Bats in Slime Pizza have circular eyes as opposed to the straight vertical lines that bats in the Super Cat Tales series and Drop Wizard Tower have.

Behavior[edit]

Bats are encountered asleep, hanging from ceilings or on the underside of floating structures. When the player reaches a close enough distance to a bat, it will awake and constantly fly towards the player. If the player puts enough distance between themselves and the bat while they are being chased, the bat will fly away from the player and return to its sleeping position.

Strategy[edit]

Super Cat Tales series[edit]

Bats can be scared away with Kuro when facing the bat with his light. In Super Cat Tales: PAWS, the miner helmet can be purchased from the shop and equipped to any cat to scare away bats. Scaring a bat will cause it to make an alert sound and immediately fly away from the player, returning back to its sleeping position.

Bats can also be defeated in one hit from any side without being stunned:

Dyna Boy series[edit]

Bats can be defeated if they are caught in the explosion range of dynamite. Depending on the level, the player may be able to throw a stick of dynamite and defeat the bat while it is asleep. If this is not possible, the player can wake a bat and lure it to an exploding stick of dynamite, though this requires the player to time their strategy more precisely due to the time between the placement of the dynamite, explosion and the bat's range. In Dyna Boy, bats will grant the player 400 points upon defeat. They may also appear more numerously in the hard levels of Mineblast!!.

Drop Wizard Tower[edit]

Bats can be defeated by stunning them with a projectile and running into them shortly after. They can also be defeated when a group of enemies rolls into them. Depending on the level, some bats can be stunned while they are asleep, while others may require the player to wake bats up to get them into a position that puts them into firing range.

Slime Pizza[edit]

Slime under the left side bat in Slime Pizza, which cannot be killed.

Bats can be defeated if the player is equipped with the slingshot. They must aim and fire in the range of the bat either while it is sleeping or flying towards the player.

In the level 20 room "Gears Area 6", the bat on the player's left side is not affected by the slingshot and any projectiles fired at it will bounce off. The bat on the right side retains its normal behavior and can be defeated using the slingshot.
