Drop Wizard Tower is an arcade platform game developed by Neutronized and published by Nitrome. It was released on July 6, 2017 for iOS and Android devices and as an HTML5 game on Poki on March 12, 2021.[1] It is the third game in the Drop Wizard series after the mobile version of Drop Wizard.
Controls[edit]
Wizards move on their own. The player controls the direction in which the they move as well as when to deploy the magic spell after it has fully been charged.
Mobile[edit]
On mobile devices, Drop Wizard Tower is controlled in portrait mode with on-screen buttons located at the bottom of the screen.
- Left and right buttons - Change direction
- Lightning button - Activate magic power when filled
Poki[edit]
When playing on a browser with Poki, Drop Wizard Tower can be controlled using the keyboard. The on-screen buttons can also be controlled by clicking with the mouse or touching them if played on Poki using a touchscreen device.
- Left and right arrow keys - Change direction
- Spacebar - Activate magic power when filled
Gameplay[edit]
The player controls a wizard with the goal of defeating all enemies in a given level. Every time the wizard lands on another platform, they will fire a projectile that travels along the ground in a horizontal direction. Enemies hit by a projectile will be stunned for a temporary period, and the player must hit the stunned enemy using the wizard to roll and defeat it. Rolled enemies can pick up other enemies (whether stunned or normal), causing a roll to gain momentum.
Once a level is cleared, the wizard will ascend to the next level.
Levels[edit]
This section is incomplete. You can help Neutronized Wiki by adding missing info.
There are 50 main levels presented to the player in one playthrough. Levels are randomized within their themes except for boss levels, which have fixed placements.
Characters[edit]
Drop Wizard Tower has six playable characters, referred to as "wizards" in the game. Each character has their own starting skill level, an ability and a spell that can be used once a gem meter is filled.
All characters from row 1 must be unlocked before any character from row 2 can be purchased. In the Poki version, all characters are in one row, but row 2 means the last three characters.

Enemies[edit]
Skull minion - Walks back and forth on a platform at a constant pace.
Red carp - Swims back and forth in a straight horizontal line while in water, and will jump out of the water if the player passes directly above them. Out of water, they jump around until they fall back into the water.
Bat - Starts the level asleep, but wakes if the player is nearby and follows them.
Prison guard - Walks on platforms and falls off edges. If the player faces one, it will run away until it is a far enough distance away.
Thief - Walks on platforms and falls off edges, stealing any gems in their path. They will run away if the player faces them.
Warlock - Walks on platforms and falls off edges. If the player faces one, it will use its wand to cast an orb, transforming the player into a frog on contact.
Wood beetle - Walks in a continuous direction along square or rectangle-shaped structures.
Jellow - Alternates between sticking to the ceiling and ground.
Egg - Moves along platforms and can fall off edges. Upon landing, it will crack and will reveal an enemy on the third fall.
Piglet - Runs along platforms and hops over small gaps.
Flame minion - Moves back and forth along platforms, leaving a small trail of hazardous flames behind.
Spider - Hang from webs and will descend if the player passes underneath them. If they recover from a stun, they lose their web and will bounce along platforms.
Ico - Remains stationary and alternates between looking to the left and right. They can fire an orb that can temporarily freeze the player.
Ghost - Moves in a horizontal line, turning at walls. If the player faces one, it will disappear and reappear once the player is no longer in line with them.
Frog - Hops along platforms at a slower pace and can fall off edges. They only appear if the player obtains a green wand or if they are transformed into a frog by a warlock.
Pink pot - Stationary enemies that launch other enemies nearby them. The player must roll enemies into pink pots to defeat them.
Death - Spawns in the middle of a stage if the player takes too long to complete a level. It will then chase the player around until the level is completed or the player loses a life.
Bosses[edit]
Boss levels occur every seven levels, with the exception of the first and final bosses, which appear after four levels. When the player starts moving on a boss level, the game music stops playing and the boss enters the stage as its name appears at the top of the screen. The battle begins at the same time the boss' HP bar appears on the screen, along with the boss music.
During the fight, the boss moves in a particular pattern and enemies fall onto platforms from the top. The enemies are briefly stunned when spawned and resume their normal behaviour following their entry. Only a limited number of enemies can be spawned into a boss stage at maximum. The player must use the stunned enemies to damage the boss by bumping into the enemies at a position that would cross the boss's path. Grouped enemies do not affect the amount of damage inflicted on the boss, but a group of rolling stunned enemies can hit more surfaces than a single enemy and increase the chance of the group damaging the boss.
Upon a boss's defeat, the game music immediately starts up again and multiple pickups will be on the platforms. The player has a limited amount of time to collect the pickups before they are transported to the next level.
Boss | Level | HP |
---|---|---|
Prison guard | Level 4 | 2 |
Big Fin | Level 11 | 2 |
Queen Beetle | Level 18 | 3 |
Kokoro | Level 25 | 3 |
Ooze | Level 32 | 4 |
Ragu | Level 39 | 4 |
