Drop Wizard is an action arcade platformer for iOS[1] and Android devices. It was released to the App Store on January 8, 2015[2] and Google Play on April 9, 2020.[3] The game was first announced to be in development on June 20, 2014, when Neutronized posted a page of sketches featuring components from the game. The player controls a wizard named Teo who embarks on a quest to save his friend Mia after she gets turned into a statue.

Controls[edit]

  • Tap left/right side of the screen - Change direction of movement

Gameplay[edit]

Drop Wizard is played in landscape mode and with a linear set of levels divided into acts. The goal in each level is to defeat all enemies, along with the boss at the end of each act. Star items occasionally drop onto the level, and collecting them factors toward the ending the player gets upon completing all acts.

Teo moves automatically left and right, turning at the sides of the screen. When he falls, he fires a star projectile upon landing on the next platform. This projectile can stun enemies for a short period of time, of which the player must touch the stunned enemy to roll and defeat it. A rolled enemy can catch other enemies and defeat them instantly, even if they are not stunned. If Teo falls off the bottom of the screen, he will re-enter at the top.

Levels[edit]

Drop Wizard is divided into five worlds, and each world has two acts. Within each act, there are six levels, including one boss level. The total number of main levels in the game is 60 (5*2*6=60). There is an additional boss level that the player must beat to get the good ending.

Intro[edit]

The intro cutscene plays whenever the player first loads the game and will automatically play if the game is left on idle while on the splash screen.

In a land far far away, two wizards were traveling from town to town until a terrible menace awakened and turned Mia into a statue. It's now up to Teo to defeat the warlock Kardius.

Endings[edit]

Drop Wizard has two endings, based on the number of stars the player has collected.

Bad ending[edit]

The bad ending appears if the player completes Ancient Temple Act 2 without collecting at least three stars in each act.

Good ending[edit]

If the player collects all stars in all acts and completes Ancient Temple Act 2, they will be taken to an additional level where they must face Dark Matter. Upon defeating Dark Matter, the good ending appears.
