Picnic Penguin Slime Labs Little Fin

Slime Labs is a platform game released on March 10, 2021 for iOS and Android devices. It features the same levels as those in the browser game Slime Laboratory, with additional levels and "improved gameplay".[1]

The game features a new soundtrack done by Raku instead of Dave Cowen (the composer of Slime Laboratory). Prior to this, Raku had also composed the soundtrack for Slime Pizza, the previous game in the Slime Labs series.

Controls[edit]

The game is controlled using on-screen buttons in the bottom left and right corners.

  • Left and right arrows (bottom-left) - Move left and right
  • Up arrow (bottom-right) - Jump
  • Down arrow (bottom-right) - Become slick

Levels[edit]

Slime Labs had twenty levels in its initial release. Levels 1-14 and 20 are from the original Slime Laboratory game, while levels 15-19 are new levels. Ten additional levels were added in the September 22, 2021 update.

Endings[edit]

Slime Labs has two different endings, each with specific requirements.

  • Bad Ending - The player must collect all the disks in every level as shown on the level select, then complete the final level.

In this ending, the slime gets lost and reminds the player to get perfect on every level.
  • Good Ending - The player must get perfect on every level as shown on the level select, i.e. complete every level at least once without dying, then complete the final level.

Just like the ending of Slime Laboratory, the slime bursts out of Tomo Toys building and flies into the distance.

Speedruns[edit]

Slime Labs has a page on Speedruns.com with four categories available for playing through all levels in a single run based on the conditions for completion[2]. "Any%" and "100%" categories are also available for individual-level runs.

  • Any% - Players are not required to collect all disks and there are no restrictions regarding death. The only requirement is to complete all levels in a single run, or one level if doing a specific level run.
  • 100% - Players must collect all disks and cannot die at any point during the run.
  • Bad ending - For full runs only, players must collect all disks and die at least once during the run to initiate the bad ending cutscene.
  • Good ending - Players must collect all disks and cannot die at any point during the run. They must also show the full good ending cutscene within the run.
