Super Cat Tales: PAWS/World 1

From Neutronized Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

World 1 takes place in and around the P.A.W.S. Base as well as Nugget Canyon. The team faces Mesa in an attempt to get a stolen data drive back.

1-1: A New Mission Begins[edit]

World 1-1 begins with a cutscene of Rose driving some of the PAWS team to the radio station when she nearly crashes into a pile of logs. Pascal volunteers to head to the radio station on foot. Before he leaves Olli hands him a data drive, reminding Pascal that the team has to transfer codes to the base. The player then begins playing the level as Pascal.

This level provides the player with tutorials on how to move, jump and defeat enemies.

Bells[edit]

  • Bell 1 - This bell is found on a small hill in the first area to the right of the first tutorial sign.
  • Bell 2 - This bell is partially obscured by flowers on the ground directly underneath the two spiders.
  • Bell 3 - Defeat the giant pollen minion by running into it twice in quick succession and it will drop a bell.

Enemies[edit]

Boss[edit]

The player can fight Ragu in a hidden area to obtain the club key. This is accessed in the second screen in the area with the two spiders and wood beetles by using the coconut helper with a level 3 upgrade to plant a seed in the clod. This will produce a vine that the player can climb up to the area with the boss. It is also possible to access the area using Rigs' ability to jump-boost off the spiders.

Ragu is fought in an enclosed area with two tree trunks and tall grass on the ground. In the first phase, Ragu will descend between the tree trunks, but upon being hit once, will switch to swinging down over the same position as the trees. The boss can also detach from its web and climb up trees. Upon being hit three times, the club key will drop into the tree trunk on the left side.

1-2: Radio Station[edit]

In this level, the player is taught how to do a wall jump. This level introduces spiked enemies in the tutorial, which can stun the player when run into. The level also indirectly introduces the player to masking in which some areas that appear to be solid have concealed passages.

When the player first completes this level, there is a cutscene where Pascal reaches the radio station, but Mesa stops him, stealing the data drive.

Bells[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Found in the second area at the top of a skinny tree trunk. The player can climb up the right tree trunk and jump to the left to climb up the side and obtain it.
  • Bell 2 - Found in the third area, the player should hit the sleeping rock so it walks to the right, then use it as a boost to jump onto the topmost platform, which has a bell on the far right end.
  • Bell 3 - Found in the fourth area, where the player can run into the grey blocks to the left.

Enemies[edit]

Egg[edit]

An egg can be obtained by using Rigs to jump-boost off the crow in the last area to reach the higher ledge next to the checkered spot. This egg is located above the ledge with the masking.

1-3: Blooming Hill[edit]

When going through World 1-3 for the first time, the player will encounter Rose as she joins the team. The player is then taught how to change cats using the cat button in the top-left corner of the screen. This level also introduces tall grass of which the player cannot run through.

  • Bell 2 - After obtaining Rigs, the player can use him to jump-boost off the pollen minion in the second area.
  • Bell 3 - If the player climbs up the rope all the way to the top in the third area, they will be taken to a hidden area above the trees. The player can then traverse to the right using the ropes to obtain the bell moving vertically inside a bubble.

Enemies[edit]

Secret exit[edit]

By using Rigs to jump-boost off the first two pollen minions encountered, the player can climb up the tree trunk to the left. This will lead to a hidden area with the red checkered spot.

  • Bell 1 - Found in the first area in the far right. The player should use Rigs to jump-boost off the pollen minion to reach the bell on the short branch.
  • Bell 2 - In the second area, the player should climb up the tree trunks to the top and run across the set of blue platforms, then jump to reach the bell in the bubble.
  • Bell 3 - This bell is awarded to the player if they reach the end of the level without defeating any enemies.

Enemies[edit]

1-4: Honey Hive[edit]

This level mainly takes place inside a tree and introduces doors. There are two diverging paths that can be taken to complete this level. The first is to enter through the door directly to the right, which will lead the player to the mid-boss. The alternate path can be accessed using Rigs to jump-boost off the pollen minion at the start of the level. This will lead the player to another bell and allow them to skip the mid-boss entirely.

Bells[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Found in the alternate path with Rigs. The bell is sitting in a small valley on a floating platform that two wood beetles walk along.
  • Bell 2 - Found when taking the main path to the boss. The bell is in a small valley beside a spider shooting bullets.
  • Bell 3 - After defeating the mid-boss without taking any damage, a bell will be dropped in the arena.

Enemies[edit]

Boss[edit]

The giant log is faced when taking the main path. When the battle starts, it will bounce around the arena, then drop to the ground and walk back and forth. The player needs to run into the boss while it is walking to stun it, then a second time while it is stunned to defeat it. If the player stuns the boss but does not defeat it, it will recover and continue to walk before resuming its bouncing phase.

1-🏠: P.A.W.S. Base[edit]

This village level unlocks the shop when playing for the first time. It will also unlock daily quests after the level's completion.

Upon going inside the P.A.W.S. Base building, Rigs will greet the player and mention that McMeow wants to talk to them. The player should then take the elevator up and enter the room on the left. McMeow will tell the player that the data drive must be retrieved from the Bandits, who were last seen in Nugget Canyon. He gives the player a key, which is needed to access World 1-5.

This level has an arcade, which the player can enter to play mini-games in exchange for a certain amount of coins per play.

Bells[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Enter the first building with a number "02" on it. The bell will be sitting atop some crates.
  • Bell 2 - If the player jumps off the crate on top of the "03" building to the left, they can walk on top of a long beam to another area with a cable car. After paying Coins 20 (VIP: Coins 10), the player will be taken to an area with four dirt clods. Using the coconut helper, the player can use its seeds to make the clods bloom flowers, causing a nearby NPC to notice and reward the player with a bell.
  • Bell 3 - Use Rokko level 3 to break the large rock to the right of the arcade and go through the pipe. This will lead the player to a dark area with a mole who asks for ice cream, which can be purchased in Portobello in World 2-🏠. If the player has ice cream in their bag, the mole will take it and award the player with a bell.

1-5: Cactus Plains[edit]

  • Bell 3 - In the area with the wild hogs, fall off the wooden ledge and move to the right instead of going to the top hill with the fence. This will reveal a hidden passage leading to a cave. The bell is floating in a bubble above two 3x3 rock blocks.

Enemies[edit]

1-6: Falling Rocks[edit]

This level features boulders that can fall in between ledges and bounce off the ground. One area involves the player running from a boulder that constantly rolls downhill.

Bells[edit]

  • Bell 1 - At the start of the second area, use Rose to crawl through the narrow passage directly to the right. The bell will be sitting atop three rock blocks, which require Rokko to break.
  • Bell 2 - Found in the auto-scroll area with the chasing boulder. After the boulder stops moving and lands in the shallow pit, the player can climb up and jump to get the bell at the top of a wooden ledge.
  • Bell 3 - In the area after the chasing boulder, the player can find a hidden passage with a door to the left above the spinning green platforms. Enter the door and climb to the platform with the boulder minion. The bell will be to the right of the blue platform.

Enemies[edit]

Egg[edit]

In the area with the third bell (through the hidden door), the player can continue climbing the ledge where the boulder falls. This will lead to an egg on a small ledge to the left.

Secret exit[edit]

This level has a blue checkered spot, which can be reached by breaking the 1x1 rock blocks to the left of the second boulder minion.

1-💀: Wood Fortress[edit]

When playing this level for the first time, Mesa is seen leaping in the top tower. Rigs approaches from the left and is told the location of the target (Mesa). A tornado minion approaches and Rigs tells the player that he will take a shortcut, using it to jump-boost into the upper part of the tower. This level formally introduces treadmills, which can be run on to lift doors.

Bells[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Found in the second room of the fortress where the treadmill is introduced. The player should equip Rokko to break the 1x1 rock blocks and climb up the logs in the staircase formation to reach the bell on the left side.
  • Bell 2 - At the top of the second room, use Rose to crawl through the narrow passage on the right and go through the door. This will lead to a room with warlocks and a bell in a bubble. The player will need to use Rokko to break the rock blocks.
  • Bell 3 - Found in the room with the Queen Beetle. Instead of going through the door at the top, go to the right and equip Rokko to break the hidden rock blocks. This will clear the path to a secret passage leading to the bell.

Enemies[edit]

Boss[edit]

The player fights Mesa at the end of the level. He will make tall leaps over the player within the arena. Sometimes, he will stick out his tongue and pull the player towards him, causing them to be stunned if the player does not escape before making contact with him. To defeat him, the player must run into him from behind. After six successful hits, Mesa will drop off the screen and leave the data drive behind, if playing for the first time. This triggers a cutscene in which a fox swoops in and steals the data drive.
