Fire dragons, known as fire lizards[1] or Firo, are enemies in the Super Cat Tales series and Lost Yeti. They also appear as a playable character in Yokai Dungeon.

Physical appearance[edit]

Fire dragons have a round red body that is slightly narrower towards the top with a white underbelly. They have four legs which rest on the ground that are also red with white spots. They have a pair of curved, black eyes and a pointy orange flame that sticks out the top of their head.

In Yokai Dungeon and Lost Yeti, fire dragons have two arms, each resting on either side of their body, and they walk on their two legs. A pair of fangs peek downward out of their mouth. They have a short tail seen from the side or back. The Lost Yeti version is more stout and has straighter diagonal-lined eyes and two visible nostrils.

Enemy role[edit]

Super Cat Tales series[edit]

Fire dragons walk back and forth, pausing and turning at ledges and walls. They are typically found on elevated platforms with a shorter amount of walking space. When the player approaches one, it will stop walking, open its mouth and spit out a fireball. This fireball will travel in an arc and split into two smaller fireballs upon hitting the ground. The two smaller fireballs will then travel outwards in an arc and disappear upon hitting the ground. The larger fireball initially spit out by the fire dragon will not split if it comes into contact with the player.

Strategy[edit]

  • Super Cat Tales: PAWS - Fire dragons can be defeated by running into them from any side with a cat. They can also be defeated in two hits with one of the attacking helpers. The fire dragon's ability to shoot fireballs and its higher elevation may put the player at risk of running into a fireball if approaching the fire dragon from the front side.
  • Super Cat Tales 2 - Fire dragons can be defeated by running into them from any side with Olli or Robo Kitty. The player can also protect themselves from oncoming fireballs on the cat's front side by equipping the shield.
  • Super Cat Tales - Fire dragons can be defeated in two hits from an attacking helper, which can be equipped within a level at a pink spot.

Lost Yeti[edit]

Fire dragons, referred to as "Firo" in the Yetipedia, walk around the arena and turn when they reach a wall or corner. If an ice block is in their path, they will stop walking and shoot a series of fireballs, melting the obstruction. They will then continue walking around the level and will destroy any popsicles in their way.

Firo cannot be defeated directly with the yeti and will cause a game over if the two come into contact with each other. In some levels, the player may be required to use Firo to clear some ice blocks needed to create a path for the yeti to reach the goal block.

Character role[edit]

A fire dragon named "Firo" appears as a playable character in Yokai Dungeon that can be purchased for 1600 coins. Firo has maximum luck, minimum speed and minimum health stat points.
