Fire plant minion
Fire plant minions are enemies in Super Cat Tales 2 and Super Cat Tales.
Physical appearance[edit]
Fire plant minions have a peach-colored, semicircular body with the flat side on the ground. They have a pair of gray leaves sticking out the top of their body at two different angles. They have a pair of black eyes shaped like vertical lines, one close to each side of their body. At the bottom seen against the ground, they have a pink mouth that is oval-shaped lengthwise.
The Super Cat Tales 2 version is slightly lighter in shading and the sprite is also slightly wider than the Super Cat Tales version.
Behavior[edit]
Fire plant minions are encountered on the ground and are stationary. Every few seconds, they will turn red and shoot out two fireballs that travel outwards in a tall arc and disappear upon contact with the ground. All fire plant minions in an area will fire simultaneously. The fireballs will damage the player on contact.
If the player approaches a fire plant minion, it will hide under the ground and remain hidden until the player moves a far enough distance away from it.
Strategy[edit]
In Super Cat Tales 2, fire plant minions hide based on the player's distance from them. As a result, the player may not be able to get close enough to hit one using an attacking cat. If the player does get close to a fire plant minion, however, they can prevent it from firing while it is hiding. The fireballs travel in consistent arcs and land in the same spots, and the player can avoid taking damage by timing and making note of where the fireballs will land before moving. Fireballs can be blocked using the shield as long as the player is facing the fireball while equipped with the item.
In Super Cat Tales, fire plant minions can be defeated in one hit with an attacking helper.
