River fish are enemies in Super Cat Tales 2.

Physical appearance

River fish have an oval-shaped body with a short rounded yellow tail and a yellow dorsal and side fin. The top half of their body is predominantly a light purple and the bottom half of their body is mostly white. Yellow dots can be seen on the back half of their body. They have a round pink mouth and black, curved eyes.

Behavior

River fish can be found underwater or out of the water. When underwater, they swim back and forth in a fixed path, wiggling from side to side as they move. They can be affected by currents and will usually be found swimming against them and remaining in one constant position.

Out of the water, river fish appear upside down and will jump periodically as they wiggle. In this state, river fish can remain in one position relative to the ground or they may move along the ground. They can be affected by waterfalls in world 1-4, where they will continuously jump and move downwards until they reach the water, of which they will start swimming.

Strategy

River fish swimming underwater can be defeated if the player makes contact with one while equipped with the dive mask. If the player does not have the dive mask, river fish will damage the player at the same time as they are defeated upon contact.

River fish out of the water can be defeated by running into them from any side with McMeow, Olli or Robo Kitty. The player can also walk or run under the fish while it leaps into the air.
