Electric jellyfish
Electric jellyfish are enemies in Super Cat Tales 2. They are a variation of the jellyfish.
Physical appearance[edit]
Electric jellyfish have a semicircle-shaped body with the flat side facing down and a pair of black eyes shaped like short horizontal lines. They have three visible tentacles in their front view that are transparent with colored outlines. Their appearance is identical to the normal jellyfish except that they are a lighter, lavender shade with white tones.
Behavior[edit]
Electric jellyfish are found underwater, swimming up and down. They move in small increments, pulsating their bodies and briefly pausing in between movements. After every three pulsations, they shoot four lightning bolts in cardinal directions that travel in a straight line away from them and disappear upon hitting a solid surface. The lightning bolts will damage the player on contact. If the player is a far enough distance away from an electric jellyfish, it will not fire any lightning bolts and only swim up and down.
Strategy[edit]
Electric jellyfish can be defeated by hitting them with the cat while equipped with the dive mask. Due to the lightning bolts, the player will be at a greater risk of getting hit when trying to defeat an electric jellyfish. In levels where they appear, blocks may be present that the player can hide behind to protect themselves from the bolts. The player can also move in the opposite direction of the electric jellyfish's movement as soon as they fire the lightning bolts to maximize the window of time in which the electric jellyfish is not attacking.
