The winter event, also called the Xmas event, is an update in Super Cat Tales 2 that was released on November 28, 2018. It was presented as a stage selected on the splash screen instead of the overworld map, and features mini games and quests separate from the main story.

The stage partly took place in a Christmas themed Neko House, as well as a few other winter areas outside. In place of where the first bell normally is, a snow elf would greet the player, letting them know that watching an ad was necessary for accessing the level. Although not mentioned in-game, players with the premium upgrade did not need to watch the ad.

Events

There were several different events that players could do within the stage.

Cake quest

In the Neko House, Brutus mentioned that snow elves hid all his cakes and would ask the player to find them. There were four pieces to find in total, but only one piece could be found at a time. The location of each piece would change every hour. Pieces were hidden in the following places:

• Above the snow elf directly to the left of Brutus
• In the snowman mini-game area, at the top of the right side of the tree
• At the ice sculpting area, on the top left branch of the first tree encountered
• On top of a crate in the secret room of the Neko House.

If all pieces were found, Brutus would reward the player with 50 coins.

Ice sculpting

To the far right, outside of the Neko House, was an ice sculpting area. It was a 12x12 grid of pink blocks that the player could interact with. Tapping an ice block would cause it to disappear, and the player could use this to create basic 2D shapes and images. Leaving and re-entering the area would cause the ice blocks to reset.

Snowmen challenge

This was the final place in the winter event and was found directly to the right of the ice sculpting area. It was a mini-game in which the player had to destroy as many snowmen as possible within twenty seconds by running into them. There were thirteen snowmen, which respawn in the same position after a brief moment so long as the challenge was still going. When time was up, the player would hear a jingle indicating its end. The player could nevertheless destroy any snowmen still standing, but they would not respawn once the challenge music had ended.

The player would then proceed back to the mayor, who would tell them what their score was, thus indicating how many snowmen the player had destroyed within that timeframe.
