Beetle
Beetles are enemies in the Super Cat Tales series and Drop Wizard series.
Physical appearance[edit]
Beetles have a rounded shell with a white rim. In the Super Cat Tales series and Drop Wizard Tower, the wood type has a solid pink body while the diamond type has a solid blue body. A pair of yellow eyes can be seen against a black background directly underneath the shell, along with four semicircle orange feet. In Drop Wizard, the wood beetle has a purple shell with a darker purple line running through the middle starting from above the eyes.
Excluding the normal wood and purple variations, beetles have a spike protruding out of the middle-top part of their shell. This spike is white in the wood (spike) and diamond types, while the fire type has a pointed flame instead of a spike.
Behavior[edit]
Beetles walk along edges at a steady pace. They can climb up the sides of ledges and walk along walls. If they are on a floating platform, they will walk in one continuous direction without turning, including walking under the platform. On longer patches of continuous surface, beetles may turn and walk opposite directions at certain trajectories, even when a stop is not present.
In Drop Wizard, beetles will fall down when they reach the end of a platform.
Strategy[edit]
- Shadow Trick - Beetles can be defeated when the normal-sized wizard stomps on them.
- Super Cat Tales: PAWS - The player can run into a beetle from any angle or use an attacking helper.
- Super Cat Tales: Magic Bridge! - Beetles cannot be defeated and will cause a game over if hit.
- Super Cat Tales 2 - The player can run into a beetle from a non-spiked side using McMeow or Olli.
- Drop Wizard Tower - Beetles can be stunned with a single hit from any side.
- Super Cat Tales - An attacking helper can defeat a beetle in a single hit. The player can also temporarily stop beetles from moving by running into a nearby wall.
- Drop Wizard - Beetles can be stunned with a single hit from any side.
