World 1 takes place in the areas surrounding Hikari City, up to the docks by the open sea, where McMeow joins the player's team to take down Commander Mizu. The player can later return to this world to get Amy and Brutus.

Synopsis[edit]

While resting outside of the Neko House, Alex awakens to see a ship crashing into a distant hill. He goes to investigate and upon getting to the crash site, encounters members of the Tin Army. He asks if the robots need assistance, but one of the commanders, Commander Kobolt, knocks him out from behind.

Alex regains consciousness and is trapped inside a cage with one other cat in a separate cage across from him. When the coast is clear, the cat breaks out of the cage and also frees Alex. The cat introduces himself as Sergeant McMeow and both he and Alex escape from the ship by jumping off the deck just moments before Commander Kobolt catches them. They land in Turnip Fields, where McMeow is about to part ways, but is urged to stay with Alex to help fight the Tin Army. McMeow agrees and offers to take Alex to Hikari City for additional assistance.

At Hikari City, Alex and McMeow go to the mayor's office, where the mayor is already panicking over the presence of flying ships surrounding the city. Alex tells the mayor that he and McMeow are here to help fight the Tin Army. Relieved, the mayor gives them a key to the power plant, where the Tin Army is currently residing.

The cats arrive near the power plant just as Commander Gorudo is giving out orders to the Tin Army, among them Commander Kobolt. Gorudo orders the production of new soldiers to grow the Tin Army and commands Commander Mizu to keep watch out over the area. The Tin Army gathering disperses, and Alex and McMeow make their way towards the power plant.

Alex and McMeow then head to the City Harbor, where they encounter Commander Mizu. From their conversation, Alex and McMeow find out that the Tin Army is expanding to the other side of the ocean. Alex and McMeow challenge Mizu to a battle and emerge victorious, killing the commander. They continue heading towards the sea.

1-1: Neko House[edit]

This level introduces the basic mechanics of the game involving moving, jumping and avoiding minions. After meeting Shinji in 1-8, the player can return to this level to activate the quest to find all the missing kittens, which will then lead to Amy joining the team.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Found just before entering the door of the Neko House.
  • Bell 2 - In the first room, to the left of the kittens.
  • Bell 3 - In the undisturbed clod of dirt just before the checkered spot, requires a shovel to obtain.
  • Kitten - Lea can be found in a secret room accessed within the first room of the Neko House. Using Olli's cloak, the player should climb up to the topmost platform on the left and jump to the right to climb on the ropes and move to the right.

1-2: Tin Soldiers[edit]

Alex meets McMeow, who joins Alex at the start of the level. The player can then use McMeow's ability to kill enemies by running into them. This level also introduces the tank, which can be used to crush small enemies and shoot down larger barriers and crates.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - In the second area, the player should jump off the left of the top-most crate, then run up the side of the wall to enter a hidden passage.
  • Bell 2 - In the third area, the bell is on the ground below two ropes hanging at the top.
  • Bell 3 - The player should equip Olli's cloak and fly off the crates in the third area to reach the ledge above the door, then continue to the right.

1-3: Turnip Fields[edit]

This level tells the player to use the cat icon to change cats when playing. It has some walking turnips, some which pop up from underground.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - In the second area, the player should fall to the ground and go left, past the spider and breaking through the grey blocks. This leads into a dark room containing the bell.
  • Bell 2 - In the third area, in the second large field, is a giant turnip. Defeating this turnip rewards the player with a bell.
  • Bell 3 - In the fourth area, right above the rope.

1-4: Windy River[edit]

This level features multiple bodies of water, along with waterfalls that fish fall from. Some bodies of water have currents and require Shinji to access certain areas.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Found at the bottom of the first body of water to the right of the starting pad.
  • Bell 2 - The player should climb up the rightmost ledge next to the spider in the second area, and jump on the platforms to the left to reach a long platform with a crow flying above.
  • Bell 3 - In the fourth area, at the bottom of the water to the right of the first set of logs. This body of water has a current pushing the player to the left, thus the player needs Shinji in order to obtain this bell.

Secret exit[edit]

This level has a red checkered pad, found in an area to the left of the waterfalls. Since the water leading up to it has a current, the player needs Shinji in order to reach it.

1-?: Butterflies[edit]

This level consists of three areas that the player has to ascend upwards to progress. Each area consists of a butterfly jar that, when the player touches, releases five butterflies within the area. The player has a limited amount of time to collect all five butterflies. If they are successful, they will be rewarded with a bell.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - The butterfly jar is found at the center of the circular moving contraption. All five butterflies circle around the contraption.
  • Bell 2 - The butterfly jar is found above the middle rope. Four butterflies are found at the four corners of the platform where the wood beetles walk around, and one butterfly is found above, between the yellow platforms.
  • Bell 3 - The butterfly jar is found in the second alcove above the two spiders. Four of the butterflies are found within this alcove, and one is found outside above it.

1-🏠: Hikari City[edit]

This level takes place in the heart of Hikari City, where the mayor's office is located. The level also features several bus stops and an amusement park with a Ferris wheel. Brutus is encountered sleeping on top of a pizza place, but the player must get the Ferris wheel working again before they can get him to join the team.

Some NPCs present at the start of the game will disappear if the player returns after making some progress: a villager of Torotoki Village is seen at a bus stop that later disappears, and a stargazer is found nearby a building that later disappears as well.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - The player should equip Olli's cloak to reach the top of the fountain by jumping off one of the tree stumps nearby.
  • Key 2 - In the mayor's office, the mayor gives the player the key to the power plant after a brief cutscene.
  • Bell 3 - In the clod of dirt to the right of the Ferris wheel.

1-6: Tin Soldiers' Hideout[edit]

This level introduces wrecking balls and features many tin soldiers as prominent enemies.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - Found on the platform above the doors leading between the second and third area.
  • Bell 2 - Instead of going through the door at the end of the third area, the player should use Alex to reach a long metal beam above it. This will lead them to an upper area with several jumping tin soldiers and three sets of platforms that rotate around an axle. The bell is found in the center of the rightmost set of rotating platforms.
  • Bell 3 - In the same area as the finish pad, the bell is visible between two wrecking balls.

1-7: Power Plant[edit]

This level mostly takes place inside the power plant building, where the player has to navigate on multiple conveyor belts while dealing with enemies and flames.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - The player should kill the largest tin soldier, found in between the first two wrecking balls.
  • Bell 2 - Equipped with the cloak, the player should jump to the right off the cans to the left of the lever in the first area so that they can reach the ledge above, where the bell is partially concealed by some metal fences. Alternatively, the player can climb on the smalls blocks, instead of breaking them, go back through the floating platforms and entering a door on the left which will led to the bell in the first area.
  • Bell 3 - In the third area, on top of some cans to the left of the lever.

1-8: City Harbor[edit]

The level begins by navigating through a harbor with three boats.

Collectables[edit]

  • Bell 1 - In the water below the second boat of the first area, where a green fish is swimming. It is partially concealed by some plants.
  • Bell 2 - In the second area on a long metal beam above the ground next to two jumping tin soldiers.
  • Bell 3 - In the third area on top of some crates, found after the player defeats Commander Mizu.
  • Gear - The gear is found at the bottom of the water below two yellow platforms, where two red fish can be seen swimming above. This can only be found after activating the Robo Kitty quest.

Boss[edit]

The player uses a tank and enters a building to fight Commander Mizu among two wrecking balls. The player must get the two wrecking balls to fall on the right side of them, then shoot when they are on the ground. Commander Mizu's wrecking ball will then behave the same as the other two wrecking balls, and shooting him when he is on the ground will kill him.
