Not to be confused with Samurai.

Ninjas are enemies in Super Cat Tales 2.

Physical appearance[edit]

Ninjas have a round body with dark gray oval-shaped hands and feet that are semicircular with the flat side facing down. They wear a gray suit with a light gray headpiece around their forehead shaped like a thin rectangle with a triangle pointing upwards at the midpoint. Their face is black with a pair of thin, red eyes.

Behavior[edit]

There are two types of ninjas in Super Cat Tales 2.

Spear ninja[edit]

Ninjas with spears will be encountered walking along a flat surface of the ground, typically between two barriers. They will walk back and forth with their spears facing forward, turning in the opposite direction once they reach a barrier. Occasionally, they will pause in between walking.

If the player is on the same ground level as a ninja and at a close enough distance, the ninja will become alert and begin running at a constant speed back and forth within its perimeter. If the ninja is facing away from the player, it may still become alert and turn around to charge at the player. Ninjas with spears will continue running until the player is a far enough distance away or if the player remains stationary in a safe position from the ninja for a long enough period of time. Once the ninja stops running, it will resume its regular walking pattern.

Star-throwing ninja[edit]

Star-throwing ninjas will remain stationary, clinging to the sides of bamboo trees. As the player approaches them, they will throw a ninja star that will travel in a diagonal direction downwards, landing in a consistent position. The stars will disappear upon contact with the ground after blinking a few times or instantly upon making contact with a cat.

Strategy[edit]

Ninjas can be defeated in a single hit without taking damage by running into them with Olli or Robo Kitty. Ninjas with spears can be hit from behind with an attacking cat. Running into the ninja from the front or top side will deal damage. The player can also use Luna's abilities to remain still while the ninja runs past them. Depending on their position, the player may also be able to jump over gaps from the barriers to not enter into the same enclosed area as a ninja.

Star-throwing ninjas may not be reachable due to their elevated position, and bouncing off a tree to hit a ninja will cause the player to take a damage and fall to the ground. The player can use the shield to protect themselves from oncoming stars from the frontside.

Appearances by level[edit]

Both spear and star-throwing ninjas appear in all of the levels listed below.
