Bricks are interactive objects in Shovel Pirate.

Physical appearance

Bricks are square-shaped with rounded corners. They have a darker colored outline and a lighter colored surface. Destructible bricks have a flat protruding surface that is square shaped with darker colored edges. Pink bricks seem to protrude out in a single point in the middle.

Behavior

Bricks are solid surfaces that occupy some areas of certain levels. The pirate can stand on them as they would on normal ground and cannot pass through them. There are two types of bricks:

• Destructible bricks - Function as barriers that enclose certain areas that neither the player nor enemies can pass through. The player can destroy these bricks with a single hit from their shovel. If they are standing on destructible bricks and use their shovel, they will break the bricks directly below them.
• Pink bricks - Cannot be destroyed with the pirate's shovel. They often function as platforms that are fixed in the area and may contain certain items such as keys or a map.
