Radishes are items in Shovel Pirate. They can be found in every level.

Physical appearance

Radishes have a set of three visible green leaves and a triangular root with a slightly rounded base near the top. The radish root is purple at the top and white at the bottom, with a band of lighter purple running through the middle horizontally. Small radishes have smaller sized roots, but maintain the same size of leaves as the normal radishes.

Behavior

Radishes are found on grassy platforms and when starting a level, are seen with their leaves sticking out of the ground. Every shoot dug using the pirate's shovel will lead to the player unearthing a small or a normal radish. Small radishes are dug up in one hit and will disappear shortly after being revealed. Normal radishes take three digs to fully reveal.

If the player digs up a normal radish, it will pop out of the ground and remain for a few seconds before disappearing. The player can obtain it while it is still active on the ground and eat it to regain a hit point if they have already lost health within the level. If the player has full health, eating a normal radish will have no effect.

Radish shoots will respawn in the same locations if the player leaves and returns within their view. With each respawn, the player can get either a small or normal radish.

Achievements

• The player can unlock the achievement Radish Delish for eating ten radishes.
