Egg Blast is a tower defense Flash browser game released in 2011. The player, as the Easter Bunny, protects chicks from enemies by throwing eggs at them.

Controls[edit]

  • Left arrow key Right arrow key Left and right arrow keys or A and D - Move left and right
  • Up arrow key Up or W - Jump
  • PC Mouse Left Click.png Click mouse - Throw egg
  • E - Switch between eggs

Gameplay[edit]

The player controls the Easter Bunny and has to collect eggs distributed by chicks to defend them against the rotten eggs descending in ships. Rotten eggs that walk along the ground can kidnap a chick before disappearing. If the player survives a level with at least one chick remaining, they will complete the level and be able to move onto the next. A progress bar in the bottom-right corner of the screen shows how far the player has survived in the level before they complete it.

Levels[edit]

There are ten levels in Egg Blast under a section on the menu called "Story Mode". A survival mode is also available just below the selection of main levels. Levels have specific themes according to the time of day: daylight, dusk and night. When new elements are introduced into a level, one of the chicks will show a speech bubble, which may also include a small illustration.

At the end of every level, white chicks with nests will appear, allowing the player to score bonus points with their remaining eggs.

Level 1 (Daylight)

This level introduces the player to the main controls and gameplay mechanics. The tutorial will not progress until the player performs the instructed actions.

This level introduces special eggs that come in red and blue spotted colors. It also introduces the red and blue enemy spaceships. The player is also taught how to scroll between eggs if they have more than one on hand.

This level introduces cluster eggs and homing chick eggs. It also introduces the fox enemy.

This level involves the fox and raccoon attacking the player in the same wave.

The player faces off against the giant dark rotten egg and has to destroy all the orbs surrounding it before destroying the boss's ship with an egg.

The ending screen depicts six yellow chicks sitting on six different eggs with the Easter Bunny sitting between them holding a white egg on top of his ears. At the bottom a caption says, " Well done! Easter is safe again!

  • Dark rotten egg Dark rotten egg
  • Green rotten egg Green rotten egg
  • Spaceship Spaceship - These will fly in many different patterns to reach the ground. Once they reach the ground they will try to attack Chicks. Hit them with any egg while they are in the air or on the ground will destroy them. Jumping on top of a rotten egg while it is on the ground will destroy.
  • Red spaceship Red spaceship - These also act like the previously mentioned enemy but these can only be completely destroyed with a red egg.
  • Blue spaceship Blue spaceship - These are also like their red counterpart and can only be destroyed by a blue egg.
  • Fox Fox - These will move rapidly across the screen and make attempts to avoid eggs. They will shoot ice balls to freeze the Easter Bunny and they take three hits to destroy.
  • Raccoon Raccoon - These move in the same fashion as foxes but will send out bubbles to trap chicks. They also take three hits to destroy and will attempt to avoid eggs.
