Neutronized universe

Gionathan Pesaresi describes the timeline of the Neutronized universe in relation to the Super Cat Tales series.

All Neutronized games take place in the same fantasy universe. This is conveyed through the recurrence of characters, enemies and picking up continuity from events that occurred in previous releases.

On April 14, 2017, Neutronized confirmed that Drop Wizard Tower and Super Cat Tales were part of the same universe, as part of a reply to a tweet regarding the development of Drop Wizard Tower.[1] Several months later, on July 26, 2017, Neutronized claimed that all of their characters and environments were connected to this same universe.[2]

Timeline[edit]

Placement Game Release date Reasoning
1 Drop Wizard January 8, 2015 Dark matter is much smaller in size before its appearance in Super Cat Tales.[3]
2 Lost Yeti January 15, 2014 None specified.
3 Drop Wizard Tower July 6, 2017 Teo and Mia are now adults.[4]

In Sami's ending, the silhouette of the yeti can be seen peeking from behind one of the trees in the background.[4]

4 Super Cat Tales 2 October 4, 2018 Many characters from Drop Wizard Tower reappear in Super Cat Tales 2, and their placement is based upon their endings.[5]

The cats in Super Cat Tales 2 appear to not know each other, as seen when Shinji introduces himself to Alex and McMeow.[6]

5 Super Cat Tales November 17, 2016 Dark Matter has increased in size in comparison to its Drop Wizard form.[7]

Others[edit]

Dyna Boy, to the left of Kuro, in Super Cat Tales 2.

Other Neutronized games feature recurring characters, settings or music, though their exact placement in the timeline is not yet confirmed.

  • Dream Tower - A small version of Dark Matter appears as the final boss. This is the origin of Dark Matter before his larger appearance at the last level of Super Cat Tales.[8]
  • Snow Tale - This game marks the first appearance of the snowball characters that would later show up in multiple games from the confirmed timeline.
  • Dyna Boy - The main character, Dyna Boy, is seen in a miners-only bar at Guldburg. Several enemies, such as the bats and frogs are also seen in some levels of Super Cat Tales 2.
  • Slime Pizza - The music track "Dark Room", which originated in Slime Pizza, is also reused in Super Cat Tales 2. Some enemies from this game also appear in Super Cat Tales 2.
  • Yokai Dungeon - Many characters make their cameos in this game. Mia has become a teacher and comes to the village for holiday, and finally enjoys hot springs there. In Baburu's ending, after defeating the yokais, Baburu leaps back into the water and enjoys a deep sleep.
  • Super Cat Tales: PAWS - Some time before Super Cat Tales 2.
