The Stegosaurus is a boss in Dino Quake. It appears in level 6 (1-💀).

Behaviour

The Stegosaurus walks back and forth on one platform. Periodically, it will pause and jump to the platform directly above or below, towards the general direction of the player. After jumping, it will resume walking.

Strategy

To defeat the Stegosaurus, the player must land a quake hit directly on the dinosaur's tail. After landing a successful hit, the tail will temporarily become invulnerable and flash briefly. The Stegosaurus' body is large enough to occupy the platform above it, so the player should avoid being on the platform directly above the boss to avoid getting hit.

Once the player attacks the tail five times without losing all their lives in the level, the Stegosaurus will die and leave behind three Diamonds.

Indicators

The Stegosaurus' tail will change colour as the player hits it to indicate the number of times it has been attacked:

• Yellow - After 2 hits in total
• Red - After 4 hits in total
