Master
The master is a non-playable character in the Flash version of Double Panda. This character does not appear in the Poki version or in Swap-Swap Panda.
History[edit]
The master was saved by Giant Panda and Red Panda after they defeated the evil master.[1] Since this lore is only revealed in the game's ending, it is not known if the master was being held captive or on the run from the samurai.
Role[edit]
The master is shown on the left side of the tutorial textboxes seen mostly when the player approaches a banner. The master also delivers a message whenever the player collects a fortune cookie.
For panda-specific banners, the player must approach the banner with the panda that matches the banner's icon. If a Giant Panda banner is shown, for example, the player must approach the banner with Giant Panda to view the hint, and approaching the banner with Red Panda will display a question mark over the character's head without the hint.
Each banner in the game indicates the type of tutorial hint the master will provide:
- Question mark banner - Shows hints about general gameplay that apply to both pandas. Any panda can be used to view.
- Giant Panda banner - Shows hints about Giant Panda's abilities. Requires Giant Panda to view.
- Red Panda banner - Shows hints about Red Panda's abilities. Requires Red Panda to view.
Level 20 is the only level to have the master appear at the start of a level without having to approach a banner.
